Seen Or Unseen

what does being 'seen' in a world
that's going to pass away some day,
mean anyway?

a chalk mark on the sky.
a ragged butterfly caught in a loop
that cannot end.

better to dissolve my friend
into a more resilient day
out of the way

than to court the supercilious

who will say anything anything
or something, nothing just to say
(until we're all dead)

something opposite to
what you just said.
