Service To Motherland Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I kissed the land before leaving
Not with heavy heart but smiling
It was supposed to be temporary absence
It was purely an opportunity or chance

I thought over entire kind of bond
It was none to be second
Motherland was to be of high importance
She must be served in life time at least once

When I left home town
I was not known
To outside world
It was going to be under new fold

As civilian, you are less disciplined
Sometimes for breaking rules fined too
Here everything goes as per rules
Strictly no one can make anybody fool

It is perfectly tuned
With living world and timed
You are parted with rigorous training
For making person tough even in raining

There is one more thing to note
Love and peace is the main topic to be sought
You are taught to be tolerant
Towards countrymen and fight for their present

Boundaries may be protected
And so the peace too may be purchased
Either through diplomatic way
Or through peaceful existence in any way

I, for sure, can relate
About being an army man and state
Services to motherland by anybody is considered supreme
Sacrifice can never go in vain if volunteered by her or him
