Service To Parents Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Service To Parents

I looked back and found no utility of life
Even though I was successful with strife
What did I gain in return?
Money, status and big mansion

What did it take away?
So many precious things lost on the way
Innocence went miles far
Cunningness was to be seen as shining star

Mastered deceptive art
Looked brilliant and so much smart
People used to consult for progress
I had doubled aged face

I was equal match
Almost within range to catch
Any object that looked at distant
I am known as 'Mr. Perfect' at present

I am not sure of service to parents
The love and belonging was absent
I gave material happiness
But they looked it with calmness
