Shadow's Dismay Poem by Katherine Kay Graven

Shadow's Dismay

I'm Fading
away

[Verse 1]

Shadows at the break of day
Are ignored in every way
Has been told from the time of a child

[Haunting shadowed voices sing]

(Don't be scared
It is only shadows acting wild)

[Verse 2]

In the darkness beyond a casting light
Shadows beg to dance with you throughout the night
Still it is ignored for no one can see
Shadows are only wanting some company

[Chorus]

Shadows never make a sound
Or even thinks of letting you down
Never ever getting in your way
No voice to be heard, sits patiently in dismay

[Verse 3]

Shadows grab hold of you, their other self
A friend indeed placed on a shelf
Oh don't worry they are always there
Right beside you, as if you cared

[Instrumental Solo]

[Chorus]

Shadows never make a sound
Or even thinks of letting you down
Never ever getting in your way
No voice to be heard, sits patiently in dismay

[Spoken whisper softly]
Lingering voices
are no more

[Haunting shadowed voices sing]

(I'm sooooooo dismayed)

[Verse 4]

For God only knows life's true reasons
Of lessons learned during a lifetime of seasons
Soon you will ponder a fateful decision
Bringing into the light
Bitter sadness or sweet wisdom

[Outro]

Will the quiet soul
You say is your only true love
Become your afterglow

Or

Will I become
