Shallow Perceptions Poem by moon batchelder

Shallow Perceptions

all dissheveled within - though the outer appearance
quite proper seems and trim to the casualest of glances.
but deeper delving into find no formal adherance
to law or rule of thumb; still illusion entrances.

all dissheveled within - with a semblance of order
to greet on-lookers, - thus to disspell reservations.
the chaos hidden away - an invisible border
is interposed between mental throes and gyrations.

so all that anyone sees seems as solid as granite,
smooth and competent - soothing - neat as a pin.
two faces own this place - though i never did plan it;
an outer mask of peace - all dissheveled within.

and if hypocracy's not what i would - nor deceptions,
folk seem content - maybe bound - by their shallow perceptions.
