Sharing Our Hearts Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Sharing Our Hearts

Looking out the window of our lives together, remembering the
beauty and times we shared so abundantly through the years.

Sharing our hearts with one another, never thinking of doing
anything else, because we were always brother and sister.

Taking steps alongside each other since you were born, teasing
one another, never losing sight of love flowing from our lives.

Now going down a one way street into realms of death, a solo
journey that leaves me in a sorrowful place alone and crying
for you, my baby sister.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by a very good friend, who's sister recently died of breast
cancer, a difficult loss for this big brother.
