Shattered Pieces Poem by Katherine Graven

Shattered Pieces

My heart is shattered
Into pieces cutting to its core
Shards of glass falling slowly
To the floor
By the words coming from your lips
Actions proving nothing
ONLY rejection is heard

Leaving only a remembrance of a heart
Kind
Loving and true

Until my heart was

SHATTERED

By you

Yesterday is to never to be found
This one sided love we shared
Heart broken frozen
tied up and bound
Knowing now you never cared
Buried under this weight
Of brokenness

and Shattered Pieces

By you it was

Taken

BROKEN

LEAVING ME

LONELY

Your Truth was spoken in lies
The truth I'm seeing was only denied
you laughed as I cried
Tearing me down
All the while I was hearing
unspoken goodbyes

I LOVED YOU

SHATTERED PIECES

cutting deep into my soul
Crashing to the floor
Breaking into a million pieces
To never to open up to be loved
by anyone
any more

ONLY REMEMBERING a given heart
Kind
Loving and true
Until my heart was turned to

SHATTERED PIECES

LEAVING

I walk away

With only shattered pieces to guide my way

NOW My heart is shattered
Into pieces
Shards of GLASS broken, scattered
On the floor

With numbness to only guide
my way.
And remaining in

SHATTERED PIECES

cutting deep into my soul
Crashing to the floor
Breaking into a million pieces
To never to open up to be loved
BY ANYONE

SHATTERED PIECES

cutting deep into my soul
Crashing to the floor
Breaking into a million pieces
To never to open up to be loved
BY ANYONE any more

Will this numbness ever

go away

SHATTERED PIECES

was only left to be found.

Shattered pieces
falling down
