She Lives Inside My Head Poem by Ramona Thompson

She Lives Inside My Head

I hear her
All the time
She never stops
Ranting and pleading to be set free
To live the life she feels that I have stolen from her
My neverending torment
The nightmare from which they tell me that I will never wake
Her name is Monica and she lives inside my head

Split in two
Never know who I'm gonna be when I wake to face the dawn's early light
Ramona or Monica?
Whose face is that in the mirror staring back?
Two seperate lifes led by one woman
2 minds trapped in one body
Created when I was young and afraid
She is the brave one
The one to take on anything too terrible that I just can't bear to handle
Her name is Monica and she lives inside my head

Don't know how to tell my boyfriend
Can't even tell my own parents
This horrid secret that I have kept hidden for so very long
Another person inside of me
Willing to do anything and everything to get out and take over
Fighting every minute
Every single second to stay in control
Losing my grip on my sanity
Never a moment of silence or freedrom from her no matter what I do or say
Her name is Monica and she lives inside my head

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
She's at it again!
Screaming
Sneering at me even as I write these words
Don't you know Ramona there's no rest for the wicked?
She taunts me
Again and again
The witch taunts me
I hate her so damm much
So damm much
It drives me to think of taking
A final desperate course of action
Anything even death would be better then living like this
With this ghost of a person on my mind
Her name is Monica and God help me she lives in my head
