She Sought Pity Poem by Randy McClave

She Sought Pity

She told me how she was used and hurt
And how family and friends always did desert,
And all of her pain and all of her suffering
All about her past she was not buffering.
She told me how she was cheated on
Instead of being treated like a Queen she was treated like a pawn,
And all of her hurt and her mental and physical pain
The scars that she cried they all still remain.
She told me about the bad men that she did choose
And how they all liked to abuse,
In the end she told and boasted of all the nitty gritty
As she was seeking tears, and condolences and pity.

I then told her all about my life's story
Never once did I ever seek applause or any glory,
I started the story from day one when my life did begin
Never did I tell anyone about my past of suffering and sin.
Never did I tell anyone how I was hurt and abused
And never did I tell of my pain of been cheated on and used,
Or the many lies and broken promises that was told me
Or the physical pain that I allowed no one to see.
She then told me that was the saddest story that she had ever heard
As I told her every truthful and honest word,
She told me then why don't I tell everyone about that nitty gritty
I then told her, that I do not seek condolences or pity.
