She Was Looking Poem by Randy McClave

She Was Looking

She had dated and dated
She then waited and waited,
For the right man for her to come along.
She had prayed and prayed
And then she played and played,
And she kept on choosing wrong.

She wanted to be dressed in white
She wanted to be seen as a beautiful sight,
Walking down the isle
And to stand breathless with a smile.
She wanted to become a wife
That is what she wanted more than anything in her life,
She wanted that forever more
And not being just a girlfriend coming to the door.
She wanted a man who was just like her
Someone who that she would prefer,
But, she ended up with men who enjoyed to drink and who smoked
And ones who were easily provoked.
She had men who kicked her and slapped her face
The type of man that would put her in her place,
That is the type of man that she was accustomed to
And to that type of man she would always say, "I Do".

She has used and used
She has been abused and abused,
By every single lying, cheating untrustworthy guy.
She had lied and also lied
Then she cried and also cried,
Then the good guys for her, just passed her by.
