She Was No Star, He Spoke No Truth. Poem by Tiffani Williams

She Was No Star, He Spoke No Truth.

he's no good.
not worth your time,
just a lost cause,
he can make up his mind
he is going to lie,
i know this for a fact.
and if you dont watch your back,
he'll make you cry.
is what everyone told her
but she didnt care
its as-if their spoken words
never met her ears.
it was like a movie,
one you want to see with a happy ending.
& just like an actor,
he was pretending,
dropping well-rehearsed, romantic words.
with no meaning,
out of his careless mouth.
& just like a movie star,
she thought she was special,
but behind the scenes
of the truth
she desperatly denies,
she was no star,
and he spoke no truth,
a one way connection,
and the signals fading
as she falls down,
his feet stay firm on the ground.
he is just another tear,
another mistake,
another painful memory,
that just wont go away,
another heartbreak,
another dream,
but another real-life nightmare.
