In the middle of a disaster, I created
For myself, and myself only.
You come and you come to save me.
And though it’s been a while

I think I should just take these feelings,
Take them, and hide them.
Away from you.
Away from intruders

Hidden from the cameras
You frame inside your mind
Just behind your eyes,
I cry.

You can have my past
wrapped up like a present
and tied with a bow,
so crimson, it almost glows
...

You remind me of a time when I knew who I was.
but like always
the second hand on the clock catches us
it always does
...

A look, a glimpse, not a phrase
was all you ever needed to determine my place
I’m not, never was nor will I ever be the perfect illusion of perfection
I think, perhaps, I never learned the definition
...

and wash away the process I’ve made
or at least pretended to make
Things shouldn’t have ended like that.
Things shouldn’t be like this
