She Will Wake Up Poem by Randy McClave

She Will Wake Up

One day she will wake up
And I won't be there,
She will see the untouched pillow
As she will curiously stare.
She will then search about and think
On maybe where I have went,
But, she won't be able to remember
Nor will she recall my scent.
She'll look and search for my clothes
But, they won't be found,
She'll look for the flowers that I sent her
But, they're all still in the ground.
She'll walk about the empty house
Sadly, she is all alone,
Her pets have all passed away
And her children have all grown.
She'll have no one there to talk to
And no one to hold and to share a laugh,
Where have I gone to she will think
And, "why am I alone on this path"?
Todays will then become tomorrow's
And tomorrow's will turn into another year,
She will think about all the missed moments
All because, I am not here.
She'll then remember one last time
Maybe when on the ground lays a white snow,
A long time ago I had asked her for a date
And again with a smile, she said, "No".
