Shelter Poem by Spiritwind Wood

Shelter

Rating: 5.0

You keep looking for shelter from the rain
searching for a piece of mind
something you lost once inside
that is still hard to find
wading through river's deep and wide
and there's no Angel by your side
no wing's to help you fly
sorrow drowns you as you slowly die
You keep running for shelter from the pain
looking for peace left unkind
turning the pages that you can't rewind
staring at a face in a mirror
seeing days that use to look so much clearer
running for shelter hiding from the tears
as the blue in the Sky disappears
memories only wash away the years
