I'M Free
Don't grieve for me
for now I am free
I'm following the path
God has laid for me
I took his hand
when I heard him call
I turned my back
and left it all
I could not stay
yet another day
to laugh, to love
to work or play
tasks left undone
must stay that way
I found that place
at the close of day
If my parting has left a void
then fill it with remembered joy
a friendship shared
a laugh, a kiss
ah yes, these things
I too will miss
Be not burdened
with times filled with sorrow
my life's been full
I savored so much
good times, good friends
a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time
seemed but all too brief
don't lengthened it now
with undo grief
lift up your heart
and share with me
know that we are never apart
God wanted me now
he set me free

A beautiful spiritual poem Bob, one I would say could be well received at a funeral and I assume this is why the person as been set free. It has great rhythm and rhyme and purpose and it is great to meet you! 10 love Karin
