What happened to the silence
Of the ticking of the clock
Of tears upon the rose's leaf
Of breath upon her cheek
Of stillness kissed by wisdom
Of peace tied with a bow
Of pondering and exhaling
Of calmness of the soul
The silence waiting in the wings
Is beckoned by the heart
Is searching for the quiet mind
Is with the butterflies
Is kissed by calm serenity
Is still within our reach
Is just a breath away from us
Is here for us to teach
Turn off your cellphone for a while
Put iPods in a drawer
This pause will soothe and messages
Will always wait for you
Your beating heart you'll hear again
As silence you'll restore
And thankfully this quiet time
Will leave you wanting more
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh
