Shifting Sand.... Poem by DEEP DARK SOUL POET

Shifting Sand....

All alone I walked this lengthy ocean strand
A solemn luminescent pearly shell in my hand
Its undisturbed beauty was all within my demand
As I stopped and wrote with it upon the sand,

From the dark blood of my hidden heart
These are the words that I soulfully wrote
From the deepest depths of my yearning soul
The cryptic words that I scribbled, I quote;

“An air of change emerges through the doorway of obstruction,
As my heart was wandering along the elusive sands of seduction,
By the battering waves of water and wind I am still in construction,
Deep within the shifting time in the hourglass is my vanishing instruction”

Right then the air was tranced and the sea was stilled
And I stood and dreamed of a world to be fulfilled
When it seemed to me that my soul was thrilled
The night swept down, with its shroud of black instilled,

From the ink of my sighs I wrote upon the silent air
The words fulminated each word that conjugated there
Spelt in bold letters with the fountains from my eyes
My passion does tell of a tale within a tale of disguise,

My heart bleeds through my distinguishing tears
A river meandering through the desert sands appears
From pain life springs forth, falling onto open hands
An oasis appears from the stretching sandy barren lands,

Although all seems empty within my hollow hand
I hold in my entirety a single crystal grain of sand
And while spinning around the silent earth careens
I wonder, and ponder, if this is what it all means,

If I had the bright eyes of divinity to see
And the brain of enlightenment to understand
I think my life's mystery might just be
All but solved in this lonely grain of sand,

Thoughts flowing upon the water, walking sand dunes of my mind,
Not so gentle breezes blowing, constantly shifting the sands unkind
Never allowing it to be the same as it once had been before
Never saying what I see twice, but in many different ways evermore,

So I turn the glass over and watch again as the tiny sands fall
Creating a slow mound of fading memories for me to recall
One by one the sands are flowing like grains of days gone by
One by one the moments fall and there is no more time for goodbye,

There is only but to awaken to a new day, that too will soon pass
I empty the grains of days gone by one by one from the hourglass
Some are coming, some are going, and some may never again be
And from these fleeting moments caught, I notice they are me…

And there within the temperance of my thoughts in the shade
I find that hope leaves me only just enough room to sadly fade
So I walk within my mind’s eye to reveal this sorry barren land
And forevermore I will drift with and beyond the ever shifting sand…
