Shining Light. Poem by Driss Ezzireg

Shining Light.

Now that darkness has sat herself
On my solitude
And the days have abandoned the ship
Of my quietude
And the songs have ignored to entertain
My gratitude
And the seas have refused to bathe my soul
In beatitude
And the sun has cast her rays ways away from
My private latitude
And you have trodden upon my pride
In disdainful attitude
I shall not despair of light
I shall keep on sailing
And my dreams unfailing
Shall guide my solitary path
Through laughter and wrath
Till shining light invades my cavernous night.
