Short And Sweet Poem by Gary James Smith

Short And Sweet

Rating: 5.0

I Was At A Funeral One Time

I was at a funeral one time
Where I was wont to speak
I asked a sister if I could
She said yes but make it short and sweet
That's so much for sharingI said
Of your minister"s stature
So nice that she is short and sweet
My neglecting her apparent matter
So here we are at the funeral home
I was downstairs reminiscing
I should have been upstairs beside my mom
Whom the funeral attendants were visiting
Suddenly...my brother-in-law
Came downstairs to greet me
And tell me that the service was about to start
And the minister would like to meet me
So up I went to the viewing room
To see if I could find her
Then I heard are you looking for short and sweet
With my sister laughing behind her
Well here she was andactually she was short and sweet
And made the sharing of this story
A blessing to repeat....
