Short Lived. Poem by Amilek Elizondo

Short Lived.

Rating: 5.0

Yesterday you loved me but now you don't. Time wasn't enough and your plans were many. Even so that a diamond was the stone.
Yesterday your unborn children in my eyes you saw. Tall and handsome you said they'd be, it was devotion you swore by.
Yesterday your love by the wind was blown, for it was ephemeral, it was short lived. A love so fleeting, impatient to my touch. You didn't give me an opportunity for my mistake to atone.
Yesterday my eyes at your sight shone. And still today my heart for you a love song sings.
Yesterday you wanted me, but your desire by anger was outlived. How wretched I feel that my heart is yours alone.
Yesterday you loved me, but now you don't!
