Sideshow Poem by Robert Sheridan

Sideshow

Was called the Ten-in-One
Offered ten sequential acts
All performing at the same
time for one single ticket
price - worth the admission.

For variety's sake, would
offer 'working acts' - the
public could see daredevil
stunts; magic acts; and
'Geeks Bearing Gifts'.

And if that wasn't enough
You could see the 'Girls'
'Hootchie-Kootch' - they
weren't wearing anything,
not even their knickers.

Soon came a decline to
the SideShow because
of TV; but then came a
revival - today you can
still see it at Coney Is.

'2008'
