Silence Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Silence

The night was very cold in that winter season,
I was lying alone in my bed,
Silence prevailed everywhere,
I had so many questions in my gloomy heart,
Which had puzzled me so long,
Stark silence inspired me to ask it all those questions one by one,
I did so with great energy and enthusiasm
Expecting to get all the answers,
But my efforts were in vain,
As I got no answer of those,
It was silence, silence and only silence.
I was restless in my bed,
But I was reluctant to give up,
Having great faith in silence,
I meditated with closed eyes for a long time,
What a pleasant surprise!
Gradually I became calm and quiet and breathed with ease,
Thereafter in my pleasing and congenial mind, I got all the answers of my questions one by one asked and unasked by me.
Oh silence! my dear silence!
I will never forget you,
I owe to you so much.
