Silence Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Silence

Moments taken,
Just to sit being silent.
Allowing one's mind to drift.
In the vastness of silence.
Is and can be,
A rewarding experience.

Choosing to close one's door,
On nonsense to refuse its visit.
Is not an act of selfishness.
But the most effective way,
To maintain one's mental health.
With a staying away,
From costly medications and the co-pay.

It is silent moments like these,
That leaves one's peace of mind...
Found to find rejuvenated and energized.
And done more to appreciate and welcome.
When one just sits,
In silence to be silent.

Letting go of revisiting B.S.
This doing done leaves one left to feel,
Happy, grateful and thankful to receive...
A beneficial gift.
Coming unexpected.
Yet time after time...
Rushing to take advantage of it!
