Silently Screaming Poem by Hannah Diane Williams

Silently Screaming

All the pain swelled up inside,
And you can barely breathe.
Wanting to hide from the crowd,
And get away from all the noise.
Maybe then,
The voices in your head will quit talking,
And you'll be able to breathe.

It doesn't work...
The voices just grow louder
And lourder
Until you realize...

You are your own worst enemy,
Punishing yourself for things
Only God could control.
No one sees the pain you feel,
No one hears you scream,
Begging someone to listen.

You know you've made mistakes,
Plenty of them...
People don't have to go around
Pointing all of them out.

You live with regret,
Knowing what you've done...
You just want out of it all.

The most taunting thing of all
Is the question
'Why would anyone do that to themselves? '
You can't answer
Because you don't know
How to put it all into words.

A lot of stuff has happened,
Some you could never tell.
You want to,
But no one would believe
The bitterest of secrets
Told in winters so cold

None of it's fair to you,
The object of their taunting words.
According to them,
You have no heart...

You come to the conclusion
That the world would be better
Without you here.
And before you get away from the pain,
You make sure they KNOW
What hell they put you through.

Put the pen on the paper,
Explaining all the reasons why...
And now the only thing left to do
Is watch the precious sight of your blood
Leak out of you.

Then, you will be nothing more
Than a precious memory
Of those few who loved you.
No one could have see the pain you felt
Or the scars hidden on your arms and legs.

So, please please don't die.

You look at this poem you just wrote,
And repeat every word to yourself,
Hoping you can keep your promise to yourself.
'Help' is all you can say
Because no one seems to care...

You've been pushed off a cliff,
And are bleeding to death
Begging someone to notice,
Someone to care.
