Since Adam Laid His Eyes On Eve Poem by Gert Strydom

Since Adam Laid His Eyes On Eve

Since Adam laid his eyes on Eve, saw her loveliness
no man has ever seen eyes so glittering,
a gaze that wants to bless,
making it feel as if every single day is spring

but now when you look at me, smile at me
while there’s sheer magic in your touch
all of these wondrous things I see
and to you my life I want to vouch,

and you I want to caress
in true happiness.
