Sindhu's gold, is God-sent, a boon
taking India over the moon

the new World champ is in her own league
'never say die': that is, her spirit-speak

some dubbed her ' the eternal bridesmaid'
to their vile, they have been put paid

she has God given height and nerves of steel
by her smashes, her.foes, pulped, do they feel?

she is agile like a leopard
no wonder she is on top of the World

sadly our record in sports is dismal
with no support, players' aims seem small

many Sindhus in our hinterland
ardous task to spot with no magic wand

on the World stage our girls amaze
Sania, Saina, Raj have all blazed

Mary Kom and more have been champs
decades back her class, in bold print, Usha stamped

our men have dazzled in cricket
not much worth talking, in men's sports pockets

time to set our sports house, in order
seize the moment or else it will get much harder
