The Ugly Lizard

Rating: 5.0

The Ugly Lizard
- - - - - - - - - - -
lives on mosquitoes
captures them by shock and awe
while I am, on.toes
this reptile is pretty slaw
with, no malice; do.say wah!

its upside-down-ness
intriguing; how does it latch?
no need to get.stressed
scientists have answers to match
let us just, wonder and watch

the growing lizard
day-by-day on bedroom roof
It surely disturbs
could fall on me as I snooze
with that thought, I get my.blues

I feel terrible at the sight of lizards....! Unfortunately they are plenty in our house. creating deep aversion in the mind! How they manage to stick to the surface as they move is intriguing! I too have the same fear as you have if they would fall on me.......!

To digress a bit: They are God's creations and have right to live. I should take care that it doesn't disturb me. There is no malice-lizard has no interest in human beings!

Your fear is not irrational! I too feel the same fear and wonder how they manage to get adhered to any flat surface without any physical substance like glue or gum! Indeed these creatures are so repulsive and I hate to see them flourishing in every nook and corner of the house. You keenly watch these tiny creatures and come up with interesting observations.

(cont.) ..you OR PH have some 'periods' in peculiar places & not where i would expect them to be! intentional? and i think by roof you mean what i call ceiling; is it an Indian usage? you are lucky to have my GOOD friend Valsa as a reader, even though she is a chicken, like you, re lizards. i have not heard of MANY people being eaten by lizards; usually only some body parts 'go missing'. V. has many fine poems here. to MyPoemList. some nice rhymes. bri ;)

WELCOME TO PH! i'm liking the poem (enough) so far. 2nd stanza, line 1: its; did you intentionally leave out/off the apostrophe? ? ? (continued) ...
