Sing Still, O Dream! Poem by David Zvekic

Sing Still, O Dream!

Rating: 5.0

Sing still, O dream! My angel o'er my mind,
Of happiness that sorrow's muse concealed;
Of wings these broken dreams have left behind.
A promise wrought of life we dared not find,
With weeping tears of passion's lonely zeal.

Sing still, O dream! My angel o'er my mind,
Of midnight when we soared on howling wind,
In skies impressed of sorrow's waxen seal
On wings these broken dreams have left behind.
No chains about my heart would harder bind,
The love that our own life did full reveal.

Sing still, O dream! My angel o'er my mind!
As lovers pass with breaths we breathe combined,
Where hopes could forge such pain as much as feel
The wings these broken dreams have left behind.

Could souls still mend our love and leave defined
A wraith's poor plan of existence made real.
Sing still, O dream! My angel o'er my mind -
Though wings are broken, dreams still lift my mind.
