Singing A Hole Play On Aunt Wang’s Head

★ Singing a Hole Play on Aunt Wang’s Head

☆ Poetry by Liu Yan (? -? , Tang Dynasty, China)

In front of the building hundred plays competed new
Only the long pole was wonderful and ecstatic and made hoops
Who said that woman turned a strong somersault
But by herself she thought it light then a child stood on her bamboo

注:刘晏,唐朝大臣,七岁举神童。
Note: Liu Yan, an official of the Tang Dynasty. When he was seven years old, he was recommended as the prodigy.

唯有长竿妙入神
