Sir Winton Churchill Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Sir Winton Churchill

Rating: 3.0

(1874-1965)
"Cometh the hour cometh the man"

Insanity and evil became German Chancellor
Adolf Hitler building his super race
Invading countries, to destroy and kill
Seeking to exterminate the Jews.

Invaded Poland defying the treaty
With France and Britain
Europe overwhelmed to Nazi tyranny
Churchill refusing to surrender.

Churchill in his sixty-sixth year
Became Prime Minister
With many cabinet ministers
Wanting Britain to surrender.

Churchill refused to capitulate
Rallied his heroic people
Britain stood against infamy
Air raids, destruction and death.

Churchill, stubborn man of destiny
With heroic leadership
Set the world free
From Nazi yoke of oppression.

Never before in human conflict
Was so much owed to one man
Greatest Englishman who ever lived
Who defied Hitler and his evil reign.
