Sitting Waiting Poem by Billy Loving

Sitting Waiting

Rating: 5.0

Her arrival, I await
As I sit and contemplate
Where can she be
Sailing across a distant sea
In a foreign land
Trekking across the burning sand
Journeying through the trees
Enjoying a river breeze
Exploring an unknown town
Somewhere underground
Climbing up a mountain
Drinking from a fountain
So cold, the days become
As I sit here feeling glum
Out the window, I peer
Waiting for her image to appear
Haunted by futility
Her return, she promised me
So here, I patiently sit
Not ready, to give up, yet
