Slater Turns 5 - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Slater Turns 5 - Lincoln Park Zoo

Harbor seal, Slater, just turned five,
And he is one harbor seal who
Likes to party hearty - no jive.
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
The keepers baked him a fresh cake,
Stuck it out on a rock so that
Slater would see it and would make
A seal line to where cake was at.
Not being a guy who's meekish,
Slater grabs the cake and flips out,
Gobblin' down a bunch of the fish,
Leaving some for others, no doubt.

Happy 5th Birthday, Slater seal,
Time for celebrating big deal.
