Sleeping With The Devil - Poem by Tracey Marquart

I lie awake gazing into his eyes
Experiencing both power and fire
And the passion and the burning desire
Knowing the truth but listening to lies

As the world turns daylight becomes dim
Night beckoning me, weakened and numb
For within his warmth I do succumb
Falling asleep under the watch of him

Coming full circle the sun shines bright
Gazing into his eyes I lie awake
Understanding it was all for my sake
Anxiously attempting to wait till night
