Sliding Sounds Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Sliding Sounds

Sounds sliding around this mind, challenging intellect to
draw portraits of life, nature and humanity, glancing a-
cross landscapes.

Capturing meanings of living and loving in silent nuances
of poetry, hearing the sighs of those now beyond curtains
of death.

Wishing they could return to the ones they've loved so
totally while here on earth, nightly vigils of hopeless-
ness, loneliness and feelings of abandonment.

Nothing left here on this earth without you my love, so
I guess I'll just lie down and close my eyes one last
time so I can be with you, leaving life behind just as
you have done before me.
