Slow Person Fast World Poem by Dorsey Baker

Slow Person Fast World

She smiled
with smiling eyes
and sweet words
came out of her mouth
the wind was blowing
among the trees
I heard its voice
sounding loud
down the road
a car was coming
it was moving
very fast!
its tires were screaming
as it turned the curve
the dust
was flying high behind
smoking up the sky

I don't know why
the car was speeding
but I do know
that people today!
always seem to be
in such a big hurry!
its a hurry up world
but I am
a slow person myself!
