Small Talk Sucks Poem by Abby Sze

Small Talk Sucks

To start with
Small talk is boring af
Hanging out with stranger wear me down
Now I have to make a conversation without knowing how
And I can't handle another discussion about the WEATHER
That 'raining or not raining' thing I just don't care

Things about small talk is
Both of us are desperate to run away
But bounded under social circumstances we're stuck in the same space
The atmosphere is dead and the WEATHER is already discussed
The nervous foot tapping the ground and phone has been checked
Many many times and only 1 minute passed
Relativity is proven here in small chat

In the process all my brain cells motor is on
Going through all the ideas to break this silence
Politics or works or food or where do you live?
Then be polite and smile like we're really interested
Everyone seems having tons of fun and only us trapped in this conversational freezer
Going home is top priority urgent

Freedom
After small talk I'm the man going home from prison
