So Many Grow Poorer Poem by Francis Duggan

So Many Grow Poorer

Billions in money being wasted by Governments in war
Whilst millions of malnutrition dying in Countries afar
The gap between the haves and the have nots is growing every day
Yet where opulence dwell there is moral decay
So many grow poorer for every new millionaire
And the wealthy grow wealthier doesn't life seem unfair
Far too many are living in dire poverty
An egalatarian Human World I will not live to see
Those of the poor suburbs deprived of success
Your rank in society in your postal address
Even in so called democratic Countries far too many people of a fair go denied
The social gap seems to keep growing ever wide
But the reaper is the greatest egalatarian of all
And to his scythe one day everyone has to fall.
