So Many Opinionated People Poem by Francis Duggan

So many opinionated people in the Human World of today
Who are not short of admirers it does seem this way
Many look up to them as leaders as up the social rank they rise
And though they may be opinionated they are far from wise
Though they could not be humble even if they did try
Why so many look up to them one must wonder why
On saying in the twenty first century the humble of mind are few
Is not saying anything that is in any way new
Self promotion nowadays it is an in thing
And the praises of the egotistical the impressionable masses does sing
Those into self promotion in a big way from it stand to gain
Why this should be is beyond me to explain
The humble are rare in the World of today
And this is a very sad thing for to say.
