So Still Is The Morning Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

So Still Is The Morning

Stillness devours this morning hour,
Not a bird stirs,
Or even the touch of a breeze.
Only the sound of the wood pigeon,
somewhere, amongst the distant trees.
Coo coo he cries,
And all but him i hear.
Coo coo he cries,
I look but he's nowhere near.
Stillness devours this moment,
It's a moment i welcome to stay,
As I brace my mind with not knowing,
What life has in store for today.
