So, You Never Get Tired Poem by Mark Heathcote

So, You Never Get Tired

So, you never get tired.
Stars are small windows poking holes into the night sky.
Opening silver and gold
Look, there's also a window in you.
A widening tear in your heart and soul
A fist-clenched holds a bridal ring
Stars are small notebooks of beginnings and ends.
Filled with all your dairy delights
Nighttime fears and frights
But look at dusk or dawn.
Stars are small windows poking holes into the night sky.
Opening silver and gold
And today you've got to dispense with all the darkness.
And cherish the moon shining in your coffee cup.
And the sun glinting, dancing in your Masala Chai tea
Spiced silver and gold
Warming you to your core, your centre
Till all the tea leaves and sands are washed away.
But until then, anything is possible.
For you and me, if we believe.
In heavenly journeys through the clouds of mistake
Look around nothing is ever really dark, opaque or oblique.
Meet me in the stars darling tonight.
Together given time we'll make a glowing kindling light.
