Solace Within Death Poem by Amelie Ison

Solace Within Death

Rating: 1.0

You are the Bringer Of Life:
The one who spreads the seeds of Mother Nature—
But when The Darkness beckons you to follow,
You must heed its call to die at last.
Your body will lie upon the earth—
An invitation to all that you've created
To wrap their spindly fingers around you
And pull you deep down to their origin:
The heart of all Creation.
But for now, their petals stroke you gently,
And their brothers and sisters grow among you:
In mourning for your body,
The world breathes.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Write this poem for a friend based on some art they did. I wrote a few different versions, but this one was my favourite.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

In sum, this zero poem reflects your personality and lack of character—all presumption and ego, thinking you can write about anything. Well, look at the result.

You are about as literal-minded as they come, with no power of imagination. My expertise? Truth-telling as you know.

If I could rate this 0 I would … Write what you know about, Rule #1, or have the imagination to conceive, Rule #2
