Some Lack Poem by Francis Duggan

Some Lack

Some lack in compassion as well as in empathy
And for the suffering of those they see as different can't feel sympathy
And sad to say nowadays their type are not rare
The small minded sort of the big World out there.

In cold wars and real wars the right and the wrong
Depends on what side to that you feel belong
But whatever your opinions your ideas seem small
If you cannot believe in a fair go for all.

Nationalism, racism and parochialism are siblings 'twould seem
The Ism types are people who never do dream
Of a better World to live in for everyone
We create our reality when all is said and done.

You cannot have a better World to live in if you do not plant the seed
From dialogue the pathway to peace only lead
The flower of peace out of mistrust cannot grow
So lets drink a toast to all and a fair go.
