Someone Else's Book Poem by Barry Middleton

Someone Else's Book

Rating: 5.0

everything that falls to earth
must land upon this page
all the pain and joy of life
the wisdom of the sage

laughter of a child at play
will drift upon the wind
the many times I still recall
of moments with a friend

every broken heart I've know
will walk this path with me
and every soul who's gone before
into eternity

for human hearts are all the same
no matter where you look
like someone sitting next to you
from someone else's book

A deep piece reflecting on the oneness of humankind. Yes, we are joined by feelings. A loss in love is shared by many. So we all are in it together. A10

I so wish the whole of humanity could wake up and see that. Thank you Nosheen.

Yes, the poet's blank page as a sort of catch-all net. Like that. Makes us poets feel empowered!
