Song Of Canada - 2 Poem by Gayathri Seetharam

Song Of Canada - 2

Song of Canada - 2
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
If the going gets rough
And life gets tough,
You need to ask yourself one question,
Do I feel lucky?

Lucky, lucky, lucky
If you are plucky
Or if you work hard
And get ideas like the bard;

I toyed with the idea
Of wearing a cool summer dress
And doing the sketch book routine
With crayons in High Park;

I shudder to think
What my son would say
For this is all baby stuff
And I do real art;

Is cinema art
Even though it is science and technology
That gets it to the movie screen
Surely, there is also theatre in it;

In the same breath, is politics science
Or is it an art
For if it is the art of persuasion and the art of oratory,
It is the science of decision making and policy making;

It is time for America to decide
Who will be President in 2021
The racist Donald Trump with his strange rhetoric
Or the VP turned Presidential candidate, Joe Biden,
With his powerful choice of running mate, Kamala Harris.
