Soulfully Do I Search Inside My Heart

Soulfully do I search inside my heart
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I am in a pensive mood
Introspective for my apparent lack of success
Weighs down heavily on my cheerful soul
And I feel that unless I wake up and smell the roses
Which don't bloom in spite of my tending to the rose plants
I am going to be left behind in the race for success;

PM Justin Trudeau has become increasingly withdrawn
With no exclamations of delight at my beautiful and interesting execution of work
If in my case, his sworn enemy is the lack of free time
In his own drive for more success, his few errors in judgement
May be his destiny's undoing;

Is he destined for a second term in the Prime Minister's seat?
I say, if he can only look Canada straight in the eye
And say that from mistakes, come greater judgement of what is right and what is wrong
For sometimes, there is a thin line between right and wrong if luckily, mostly there is a red line,
And could the ladies whose cause he has championed as an ardent feminist give him a break.
