Sonnet: Awesome Nature, Awesome God
The earth is clothed by beauteous creatures all,
In great varieties, gentle, weird, beloved;
And water lined by shrubs and trees, so tall -
A lovely treat to human eyes, well-proved.
What species roam the forests, deep and dark!
What mind and heart created everything!
What animals went into Noah's ark!
-Creative genius of the master-King!
To say that everything had come from naught
Is proof enough of existence of God;
In Darwin's evolution, man is caught,
And tries to explain everything, so odd.
From awesome God is awesome Nature born!
Yet, man trumpets without limits, his horn.
