Sons Of... Poem by DM W

Sons Of...

Sons of brute darkness
embrace the feminine light.
You must relinquish
the steel of your control and
break open your hearts,
as Love cannot ever hope
to prosper within
your clenched, fascist fists of stone.
I say let flowers
of sweet faithfulness unfold
in vast springtimes
of teeming mercy and grace, as
I see bitter hatred,
glow deeply within your eyes.
Your divisive walls
condemn all ragged strangers.
You dig up lost bones
like rabid dogs of despair,
that have spent too long,
wandering in the desert.
Sons of pioneers
will your vain conquests never
cease? O your gods are
really idols and you hide
behind great flags and
fake 'democratic' notions.
I have seen enough
of your phallic monuments
to last a lifetime.
Your crude systems will not last.
Your fabled statues
will be reduced to mere dust.
Your uniforms don't
fit independent bodies.
Sons of occupation,
revenge is diminishing
your finer human
elements. See how you age,
as you tread over
bloody pathways towards graves
of the disappeared.
Your right to justice is marred.
It's better to light
small candles and pray hard for
absolution in
the dreadful abyss of night,
than strain like gnarled roots,
against wise arrows of Time.
Sons of cold fathers,
look to the warm children's land.
Its profound flows of
innocence will set you free.
And you can begin
again with new- born longings.
Sons of brute darkness,
embrace the feminine light.
