Sorrow Poem by Ray Southworth

Sorrow

I build these walls so no one can see,
Who is the real me?
I stay inside and hide all day,
And watch life fade away.

Scared and lonely yet still I wait,
Knowing all the time that it is my fate.
Try and try as you may,
You will not make me sway.

Tomorrows are just yesterdays in disguise,
If you listen to my words they’ll make you wise.
For I do not share much with those around me,
Instead I would rather just let it be.

My words and thoughts are all I have to give to you,
To remind you of all that I do.
Take it for what it’s worth,
A stroke of genius or just my curse.
