Despair Poem by Ray Southworth

Despair

Have you ever felt the silence

the sorrow and the despair

quiet lays upon us

like the madness and it doesn't care

the void and the life of the world before you

haste, anger and destruction before you

Dig down deep and pack it away

for then only you can say

Darkness is found for those who desire

as in time we all expire

the selfish shall only see

the bitterness only they can be

our feelings do not matter

as they are really pretending to be the mad hatter

search inside yourself

hopefully they don't betray it

bring it back to the top

and if then, maybe it'll stop

a lesson to learn is what I say

heed my warning is here today

stop your pretending and insecure

as madness is sure to endure

tonight I say to thee

join me in the jubilee
