Soul Mate Poem by Violet Val

Soul Mate

Rating: 4.5

the gypsy said it looking in to my eyes
“He” is your soul mate…
I tried not to laugh
How silly to have thought you
the knight who would fight my fright

Falling deeper into your trap
I thought myself lucky
I thought it grand,
however…
You turned out to be a wolf disguised as a lamb

You can not be my soul mate
It simply can not be
I thought I knew deceit
Until you came to be

Leaving me in the cold when I sought your warmth
Allowed me to unveil your predatory heart

You are dark and I am light
destined to be together
but always apart

I leave you with your endeavors
the shell you call a life
the darkness behind your gray eyes
is one I cannot be accompanied by.

When pursued, by the sun... there what is warm... that I am left to cold, it is made that the central veil, which is your warmth.. plundered by one, if shaken, when it is possible....iip
